Learning content marketing -tips for corporate bloggers

It was end of the year 2013. I thought how I could combine my passion for sports and my business studies. I got an idea. I sent e-mail to gym club Fressi and asked “do you want a blogger that create effective content to your website and social media”. Fressi’s management said yes.

I started a school project with my friend Olga and we started as Fressi’s offical bloggers. Our blog's name was Fressi by Anna ja Olga. We interviewed Fressi’s staff, wrote about Fressi’s group exercise and gave healthy tips for our readers. It was so fun. After school project Fressi’s executive committee asked can we continue the blog. Olga left and I changed blog’s name to Fressi by Anna. And… here I am! You can find my blog here.

I think that good blog posts say something intresting and useful: I want to give valuable tips, help my blog’s readers and give discount codes if it’s possible. I have done different co-operations with Fressi’s personal trainers, massaeurs and Fysioline’s subsidiary Wrange which sell sport clothes and supplements.

Corporate blogging serves multiple marketing goals: driving awareness, relationship building, community marketing, providing the information and so on. Corporate can also use blogs to focus non-marketing related business goals or forms of communication and interaction.

When my blogspost is ready, I send link to Fressi’s social media manager and she share it to social media channels.  I think that content marketing made through social media is an interesting and current topic, because social media makes smaller companies as equal as the bigger companies.

Now I want to give some tips for corporate bloggers:

  • Don’t write facts if you aren’t 100% sure. Make sure that your sources are reliable.
  • Pay attention to spelling.
  • Define your target group. Figure out who is buying what you’re selling and write for them.
  • Don’t write about your personal life: at the end it’s company’s blog, not yours.
  • Good corporate blog posts include a call to action but hard sells in blog posts will lose your readers’ trust . Tell your own experiences about corporate's services or products but never say anything bad about the company.

  2. Thanks for telling us about your corporate blog. Blogging tips you gave are surely very useful! You have good writing skills. I spent quite a long time reading this and that on your blog and I really found it interesting. You're a good blogger and I loved the layout on your blog! However, as a Fitness Instructor I would like to point out please make sure you keep posting pictures with 100% techniques when you have such a big role in Fressi. So far looking good! I'm pretty sure many different kind of customers read your blog - especially the newbies who have bought or are going to buy a gym membership. When I think about these newbies it would be awesome if you did a post of every single fitnessclass what Fressi has to offer. It could definitely help most of the shy newbies and other customers to try out different classes that they have never been to. If you blogged how is it be in certain classes as a customer it would be a great help for everyone who think he/she hasn't enough encourage to take that class. Keep the spirit alive!
